BQ's COVID RESOURCE HUB

Active: Stage 5 Easing of Restrictions

Basketball Queensland (BQ) have created this COVID-19 Resource Hub as a central point of information for our associations, clubs and participants with a series of resources designed to guide and assist a safe return to our courts.

BQ is currently operating under the Indoor Sports COVIDSafe Industry Plan approved by the State Government.

From 4pm, 17 November, Queensland entered further Easing of Restrictions in Stage 5 that now allows:

    • Indoor premises: Increase from one per person per 4m2 to one per person per 2m2

    • Indoor events: Seated, ticketed venues to increase from 50% to 100% capacity.
*23 Nov 2020 UPDATE* This only applies to Major Sports Stadiums including Stadiums Queensland (for example: North Queensland Stadium, Queensland Country Bank Stadium), The Gabba, Suncorp Stadium, Metricon Stadium, Queensland Tennis Centre).

    • Outdoor events: Increase outdoor events from 1000 to 1500 with a COVID Safe Event Checklist.

    • Indoor and outdoor events: When attending events you are strongly encouraged to wear a mask when you are not sitting in your allocated     seat and it is not possible to physically distance. This could include entering or exiting the venue, leaving your seat to go to the bathroom or     purchasing food or drinks.

    • Open air stadiums: Increase seated capacity from 75% to 100% (with a COVID Safe Plan).

Sport and Recreation Queensland are in the process of updating COVIDSafe Industry Plans to be published on the Return to Play website. Until updated, the Restrictions on Businesses, Activities and Undertakings Direction (No. 09) will take precedence over the Industry Plans.

Please refer to your association's Return to Play directives for specific information on venue restrictions.
